What is Legionella?
Legionella is a type of bacteria found naturally in freshwater, like lakes and streams, but when inhaled can cause a serious form of pneumonia known as Legionnaires’ disease. A Legionella Risk Assessment is carried out to ensure that Legionella is not present in any human-made water systems like sink faucets or shower units.
Testing for Legionella is a legal requirement in the UK, so having your test carried out by Primary Water Solutions is your first step towards compliance with The Approved Code of Practice L8. (ACoP L8). For shared residences or commercial properties, it is the responsibility of the person in control of the premises to ensure that closed system testing is carried out.
