The importance of under going a risk assessment is very high, testing can identify the growth of Legionella in hot and cold water systems and prevent cases of dangerous legionnaires’ disease. Identifying and reporting cases as soon as possible, is important in controlling a Legionella outbreak in your water supply. In 2018, The Royal United Hospital in Bath was fined £300,000 for health and safety breaches after a patient died from Legionnaires’ disease.
